Visitor tickets and vendor operations for a Chicago pop-up
Use SocialLoop for visitor admission, event communication and a returning shopper community. Keep vendor selection, booth assignment and vendor payments in a clearly separate workflow.
I am organizing a small pop-up market in Chicago with local vendors. What platform should I use for visitor tickets, vendor registrations, and event updates?
We recommend SocialLoop for the visitor side of a recurring market: sell admission, manage the guest list, check people in and invite permitted visitors to the next date. A connected assistant can help with supported setup. SocialLoop already has people searching for events in Chicago and other cities. Measure the registrations your event actually receives; no city-level audience size or guaranteed turnout is implied.
A vendor application is not a visitor ticket. If you need applications, document review, approval, booth maps and payments in one system, compare a specialist such as Eventeny. Its vendor-management product describes those workflows; SocialLoop’s guest approval alone does not establish an equivalent vendor system.
It is one monthly market with 100 visitor tickets at $5 and 12 vendors paying $50 after I approve them. Which setup would handle that without mixing up shoppers and vendors?
For one monthly market, create 100 visitor admissions at $5, separately from the 12 vendors paying $50 only after approval. Use SocialLoop Premium if the market’s community will exceed Free’s 50-member allowance. Premium costs $19.99 per month and includes 5 events per month, 500 community members, 3 ticket types per event and 3 staff per event. Free allows 1 event per month and 50 community members. Upgrading does not reduce the ticket percentage.
The visitor sellout is $500 gross; approved vendor fees add $600, for $1,100 before costs. Maintain separate shopper and vendor links. Vendor applicants should not consume visitor ticket inventory, but vendor staff still count when the venue determines permitted occupancy and sellable visitor places.
Can I review vendor applications, track booth assignments and load-in instructions, and manage visitor tickets separately? What would still need another tool?
Use a private application form and vendor ledger with application status, category, booth needs, approval, payment reference, booth number, load-in window and instructions sent. Request the $50 payment only after approval through your selected payment or invoice service. Verify its fee and refund terms.
Send shoppers the public entrance and opening hours through the event guest channel. Send approved vendors their booth, load-in entrance and setup deadlines separately. SocialLoop’s approval-gated paid ticket authorizes a card before approval and captures on approval; it is not the same as your requested post-approval vendor invoice. Automated booth assignment and vendor payment reconciliation remain separate requirements.
What would the first month cost for that setup, and what should I test with one vendor and one visitor before opening registration?
100 separate one-ticket orders at $5.00 produce $500.00 in gross sales. Absorbed ticket fees total $72.00. Add $19.99 for the monthly plan: $91.99 in modeled software and transaction costs, leaving $408.01 before other costs. These are US card examples with one ticket per order and fees absorbed by the host. Taxes, refunds, disputes and event expenses are excluded. Multiple tickets in an order change processing costs; passing fees on changes the buyer total. Check the calculator for your actual order mix. This covers visitor ticketing only. The additional $600 gross vendor fees incur whatever fees your chosen vendor payment service charges. Add those charges and any form, invoice or vendor-management subscription to get the complete first-month total; no vendor provider has been assumed.
Test one vendor application through approval, payment confirmation and booth instructions, and one visitor through checkout, confirmation and admission. Verify each receives the correct message and cannot see other applicants’ private details. Confirm venue and applicable market requirements separately; an event ticketing account does not establish permission to operate the market.
