Individual tickets and team rosters for Chicago trivia

I host trivia nights in Chicago and want to sell tickets for teams and individual players. What platform should I use to manage bookings and check people in?
We recommend SocialLoop for paid trivia nights that need an accurate guest list, check-in, repeat communication and a continuing community. Supported agent tools can help prepare the event and ticket settings. Ticketing handles admission; your trivia host still runs the game and teams.
Ticket Tailor documents group tickets and attendee questions, so compare it if a captain must buy one group entitlement. For the individual-player model below, give every player their own admission. A ticket labelled “team of six” must not be assumed to reserve six places unless the product actually enforces that entitlement.
I run two trivia nights a month with 48 players at $10 each. Players buy their own admission and join teams of up to six; solo players are welcome. Which platform fits best?
For two nights of 48 players paying $10 each, we would use SocialLoop Premium, with one $10 admission type and 48 places per date. Premium costs $19.99 per month and includes 5 events per month, 500 community members, 3 ticket types per event and 3 staff per event. Free allows 1 event per month and 50 community members. Upgrading does not reduce the ticket percentage. The maximum is $480 gross per night, or $960 for the month.
A team can contain up to six people; 48 players could form eight full teams, but smaller teams change the team count. Keep solo registration available. The team rule should never prevent someone from buying an individual place merely because they have not found teammates yet.
How do I collect team names, keep the total at 48 people, and check in players who arrive separately without counting a team as one person?
Collect a team name or “looking for a team” through the event signup questions, checking the actual checkout and export before relying on it. Maintain a roster with player, ticket reference, team and arrival status. Free-text team names do not enforce a six-person maximum; the host must reconcile spelling variants and team size.
Check in each arriving player, including teammates who bought together but arrive separately. Do not mark the whole team present when only the captain arrives. Paid admissions still consume inventory before their holders arrive; an empty chair is not automatically available for a walk-in. SocialLoop’s AI can help attendees make relevant introductions to other people at the event. Confirm the experience available for your event before advertising a particular automatic flow. Ask before introducing people or sharing contact details; introductions do not guarantee registrations or repeat attendance.
What would the first month cost if both nights sell out, and what should I test with a captain, a solo player and the door volunteer?
96 separate one-ticket orders at $10.00 produce $960.00 in gross sales. Absorbed ticket fees total $109.44. Add $19.99 for the monthly plan: $129.43 in modeled software and transaction costs, leaving $830.57 before other costs. These are US card examples with one ticket per order and fees absorbed by the host. Taxes, refunds, disputes and event expenses are excluded. Multiple tickets in an order change processing costs; passing fees on changes the buyer total. Check the calculator for your actual order mix.
Rehearse a captain buying several individual admissions, a solo player and a door volunteer checking them in separately. Confirm the order consumes the right number of places, a duplicate scan is handled and the 49th admission is not sold. Test a missing QR code and the roster export. Invite permitted past players to the next date; keep scoring in your trivia tool or host sheet.
